Condo Project Summary
This new condo project will add new heights to the Port Whitby skyline while being minutes away from the Whitby GO Station.
1636 Charles Street Condos is a new pre-construction project developed by Tribute Communities in Whitby. This multi-phase project will develop 4 high-rise towers ranging from 28 to 36 storeys, bringing in 1,639 residential units. This development will be located southwest of Brock Street S and Victoria Street W. Units will range from studios to 3 bedroom suites.
These condos will offer over 24,000 square feet of retail space, and even incorporate a proposed park along the southeast corner of the development site. Investors should take advantage of how this project will transform and bring more life to Port Whitby.
Amenities
1636 Charles St Condos is a project that proposes 4 mixed-use condominiums over 4 phases of development, with 1 tower completed per phase. The 32-storey Tower A will offer 466 residential units, 36-storey Tower B will offer 463 units, 28-storey Tower C will offer 327 units, and 32-storey Tower D will offer 383 units, for a total of 1,639 residential units.
This total includes the 28 affordable units provided by Habitat for Humanity. Though the exact assortment of unit layouts has yet to be finalized, based on past projects by Tribute Communities, we can expect a variety of thoughtful layouts that maximize the spaces available in each unit.
The planned 24,360 square feet of retail and commercial spaces will be planned within the shared 5-storey podium on which the towers will sit. The 1rst and 2nd floors will have 20,180 square feet of indoor and 30,960 square feet of outdoor amenity spaces.
Outdoor amenities do not include the planned 26,180 square-foot park connecting to the northwest intersection of Charles Street and Watson Street W.
The proposal will provide ample vehicle parking, with 1,180 residential and 214 visitor and retail parking spaces, 100 of which will be equipped for electric vehicles. These parking spaces will be available at grade and in the three levels of underground parking.
Tower A on the northeast corner of the development site will have an additional underground parking level. A total of 984 bicycle parking spaces will also be available.
